The International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in Albany, NY

Every time I plan on going somewhere or doing something, I do some basic research before I go to see what’s nearby that I might want to visit. One night, when I was going to Monday Night Raw in Albany, I found The International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame.

If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m a huge fan of the WWE. I have been since I was about 9 years old when my brothers introduced it to me. I have been scared (and scarred) by such wrestlers as George “The Animal Steele” and mesmerized by my absolute favorite wrestler, Dusty Rhodes. I even had the pleasure of seeing Dusty wrestle in Madison Square Garden! And let’s not even talk about the wrestlers I’ve had sweet crushes on such as Dino Bravo, Triple H, Roman Reigns, and Drew McIntyre. But overall, it’s fun, and it’s my downtime each week and it’s the time I share with my kids via text and Skype if we’re not there in person. Honestly, being part of the WWE universe is incredible.

Other than a few years here and there, I’ve been watching regularly ever since. I introduced it to my children and they are now adults and still watch. We have gone to many events over the years and in 2023, I went to my first WrestleMania. I’ll never forget it.

I have always said that the WWE would benefit from having a museum. Think about all the costumes and props and weapons and masks and belts, etc., that would be in it. Imagine a life-sized wrestling ring where you can go in and take photos and try on belt replicas. Talk about a moneymaker for the WWE. Rumor is they are working on something like this, but I’ve been hearing about this for years.

In the meantime, I was surprised to stumble across the International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame when my kids and I went to see Monday Night Raw in Albany, New York. It’s located right in the MVP Arena. Now I will say it’s small, but it’s still interesting and gives you a taste of what could be a much bigger museum. We took some time to check it out before the event started. It was free, but donations are accepted.

There was much more than what I posted below, but these are some of my faves. Dominic DeNucci was tag team partners with Dino Bravo back in the day and I was surprised to see his robe there.
