You’re off to see the Wizard…the wonderful Wizard of Oz! If you’re a fan of The Wizard of Oz and always dreamed of skipping down the yellow brick road, now is your chance. The Land of Oz, America’s Original Wizard of Oz Theme Park, located on top Beech Mountain in North Carolina announced their 2020 dates for Journey With Dorothy on their Instagram account yesterday.
The Wizard of Oz was released in 1939 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It’s one of my favorite movies and is considered to be one of the greatest films ever made. It is based on the adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s 1900 children’s fantasy novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and starred Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale alongside Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, and Bert Lahr.
Did you know? There’s also an L. Frank Baum museum in Chittenango, New York.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Land of Oz, so make your plans for the Journey With Dorothy early! The dates are June 12th, 19th and 26th as well as July 2nd and 3rd. The 2019 prices ranged around $25 to $30.
Keep in mind that the Land of Oz is not wheelchair or stroller friendly due to uneven pathways, staircases, and steep ramps built within the natural terrain of Beech Mountain.
